THE LIGFHTHOUSE LADIES FISHING TOURNAMENT - RULES 2011

 

ENTRY/REGISTRATION

 

The Lighthouse Ladies Fishing Tournament is an Angler’s Tournament. That is, individual anglers must register to participate.

                 

CATEGORIES/ SPECIES

 

The Lighthouse Ladies Fishing Tournament follows a KDW format (Kingfish, Dolphin/Mahi, Wahoo). These are the only categories/species allowed for weigh-in

 

FISHING RANGE

 

There is a 25 miles range restriction from the continental US coast (eastern boundary) and 25 miles coastal boundary measured from the Jupiter FL inlet (25 miles north and 25 miles south). Fish obtained in Bahamian waters are automatically disqualified. Anglers may depart from their most convenient inlet within the allowed geographical area.

 

WEIGH IN

 

- Angler may weigh in multiple fish species may also qualify for multiple prizes, but only one fish per category/species will be accepted for award.

 

- It is not necessary to boat up to the official weigh in station. The fish may be transported to the station by any other mean.

 

-Fish must be kept iced (but not frozen) at all time. The use of salt or any other preservative is not allowed. Altering of a fish weight (by stuffing, injection, etc) will lead to immediate disqualification.

 

-Mutilated fish will not be weighted

 

-Official weigh-in stations are located at Jupiter Seasport Marina and Jupiter Point Marina.

 

DOUBLE WEIGH IN

 

Angler cannot weigh in the same fish for two distinct tournaments. Specifically, a fish weighted in for a concurrent tournament disqualifies it for the Lighthouse tournament.

 

LEADER BOARD

 

There is only one official Leader’s Board. The official leader board will be located at Jupiter Point Marina.

 

AWARDS:

Awards go to finishes 1-3 of each species/category for the heaviest fish.

 

LICENSES AND PERMITS

 

Anglers are responsible for obtaining and keeping a valid Florida fishing license (http://myfwc.com/License/LicPermit_RecreationalHF.htm) and such license must be valid at the claimed time of fish landing.

 

RECREATIONAL FISHING RULES

 

All state and Federal recreational fishing rules pertaining to weight, size and bag limits are applicable.

 

RODS AND REELS

 

All fish must be caught with conventional rods and reels as described by IGFA rules. Specifically, the use of electric or power assisted reels is not allowed. Wire lines, kites, downriggers and planers are allowed to the extent allowed by state and Federal regulations.

 

The use of long line, netcasting, spear fishing, power heads, gaffing (other than assisting during landing) or any other method than those mentioned above are not allowed and will lead to automatic disqualification.

 

TIES

 

In the event of identical weights, the first fish weighted shall prevail

 

DISQUALIFICATIONS

 

At the tournament’s rules committee sole discretion, disqualification of any of the tournament’s rules may lead to disqualification.

 

PUBLICITY AND RELEASE

 

Angler, without payment or restrictions, consents to the use of photographs and use of his/her name by the tournament, its organizers, sponsors and news media.

 

HOLD HARMLESS

 

As with any sport, sports fishing involve many unforeseen risks. We encourage all anglers to heed weather warnings and to exercise caution at all time. Anglers are adviced to comply with all maritime rules and regulations at all times. .It is the angler’s sole decision to fish at any time and angler agrees to hold harmless the tournament, its organizers, sponsors and stakeholders from any liability from libel, slander, loss, damage, negligence, injury, death suffered by angler, family, crew or by-standers.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF RULES

 

Payment of the entry fee constitutes a representation that Angler has read and agrees to the Lighthouse Ladies Fishing Tournament rules. Angler agrees to abide by the tournament’s rules and decisions by its officials.
